Tank pichkari are the back-carried version: a reservoir worn on the shoulders feeding a hand-held nozzle, so a child can play for a long stretch without going back to refill. They are the top of the water range and the one children ask for by name.

The design problem is not the mechanism, which is simple. It is carrying a full reservoir of water on a child comfortably and safely, which is what the straps, the balance and the shell have to solve.

Designing for a child carrying water

Water is heavy, and a tank that is comfortable empty can be unpleasant full. The reservoir shape, where it sits against the back, and how the straps distribute that weight are the real design work in this product, and they are the reason the range is built around what a child can carry rather than around the largest tank that will mould.

The shell is blow-moulded, the fittings and mechanism injection-moulded, and the whole thing assembled and checked on site. That matters for a product with a water seal: a leak is an assembly problem as often as a moulding one, and both halves being under one roof is what lets it be found before despatch rather than after.

Character and licensed designs

Much of this category is sold on the character on the tank rather than on the mechanism inside it, which makes it the part of the range where private label and design customisation come up most often.

Where a buyer brings their own character or licence, the work runs on our IP-secure lines under NDA, with tooling held to the buyer's account. Where a buyer wants an existing shell in their own colours and packaging, that is design customisation and needs no new mould.

What is worth settling early

Toy safety: Manufactured to ASTM and EN-71, with certificates issued per shipment. Strap and small-part requirements are the ones that usually differ between schemes, so raise your destination market at enquiry.
Volumetric weight: A tank is mostly air in transit. This is the bulkiest category in the range and the one where nesting and carton configuration decide landed cost, so the loading plan is worth settling alongside the price rather than after it.
Seasonality: Pre-Holi capacity is committed early. An order for a summer season elsewhere sits in a quieter part of our year.
Specifications: Capacity range, dimensions, strap specification and carton configuration are issued per quotation against current production.
